Something about me:
I'm quite new to singing and started singing seriously in my early 20's. I have always been interested in music though and have played flute since I was eight years old. Now I collect flutes and have various swedish folk flutes, tin whistles and a fantastic low whistle.
A few words about my voice:
I have quite a mild voice and I sing alto mostly. I have prior experience from singing in other quartets and sextets, so harmony singing (and playing) is something I'm used to. One of my strenghts is also that I can read scores. I also like experimenting with different voicings and harmonies.
Why sing English folkmusic?
English folkmusic is fantastic, because it is for everyone. Everyone can sing it and everyone usually can find something that they like in it. I love singing both vocals and tunes, because it touches something inside. I first came in contact with the music for real when my uncle (Matts) sang a song on his wedding in a trio accapella. I thought it sounded odd and intriguing at the same time! I started singing some music myself when I first met Emma in the group. It was she who introduced me to Swedish folk singing, but also to some Irish folk music. That's how it began for me =)
Nice Karin! Nu funkar sidan också vilket är bra. Jag fick ta bort den "ursprungliga" sidan och göra om det så fungerade det.
